Ministerial Forum on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Singapore 02- 03 June 2015
H.E Minster Prak Sokhonn led a delegation of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications to attend the Infocomm Media Business Exchange Exhibition and the Ministerial Forum on ICT which was held on 2nd and 3rd of June 2015, Singapore.
The 2015 Ministerial Forum on the theme of “Smart Nation” was opened by H.E Dr. Yacoob IBRAHIM, Minister of Information and Communication of Singapore, and prominently attended by H.E Dr. Houlin ZHAO, Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU); 20 ministers and ministerial representatives from Asia, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa; and guest speakers from public institutions, universities, and private sector.
The forum comprised of three sessions: (1)-Innovation for smart nation, (2)-Roles of government in smart nation, and (3)-High-level consultation on smart nation. The sessions were followed by a luncheon meeting organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
During the forum, H.E Minister Prak Sokhonn had discussed with H.E Dr. Houlin ZHAO to exchange views on telecommunication development and cooperation; and preparation for celebrating the 150th Anniversary of ITU.
