Meeting on Financial Strategy for 2021-2023 and Budget Planning for 2021

Phnom Penh 23 June 2020, Secretary of State Khan Sarak led a meeting on financial strategies for 2021-2023 and budget planning for 2021 for the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications. Relevant officials from the ministry and provincial departments were present at the meeting.

MPTC’s strategic objectives for 2021-2023 include the continued development of post, telecommunications and ICT sectors. Key initiatives include revenue collection using data from Data Management Center, draft policy and strategic plans for telecoms and digital technology development, draft regulations for post, telecoms and ICT sectors, capacity building for officials, app development for online provision of public services and single international gateway. In addition, MPTC also prioritizes revenue collection through an effective management of radio frequency spectrum by way of unutilized spectrum revocation and spectrum auction. Moreover, the ministry currently urges a full implementation of telecommunications law and completion of any draft policies, discourages any unfair competition in the telecoms sector and expedites the draft amendment of postal law and relevant policies. Lastly, MPTC encourages the amendment of national high-speed internet policy and the adoption of Cambodia’s digital government policy 2024.
