Consultation Session on e-Learning Platform

Phnom Penh, 06 July 2020, H.E. Mr. Channmeta Kan, Secretary of State of MPTC and Chairman of the working group for the organization, improvement and development of digital tools for online learning, presided over a consultation session on e-learning platform. Present at the discussion were H.E. Mr. Vattana San, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and Deputy Chairman of the working group, officials of National Institute of Posts (NIPTICT), Telecoms and ICT, and representatives from telecoms operators, Internet service providers (ISP), and Sabay.

Secretary Kan stated the discussion was aimed to request cooperation from telecoms operators and ISP’s to provide free internet access for high schools in rural areas during Covid-19 pandemic. The free Internet access will allow students to stay connected and access the e-learning platform. The meeting was also meant to solicit inputs for improvement of the existing platform, developed by NIPTICT and Sabay.

Please note that the e-learning platform will be presented to the Minister for review and approval before its soft launch in the near future.
