Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of 19 May 2025, Mr. Taing Bunhong, Director of the Department of Policy and Legal Affairs at the General Secretariat of the Digital Government Committee, held a bilateral meeting with representatives from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, led by Mr. Sok Tha, Director of the Digital Transformation Department, to discuss the draft National Artificial Intelligence Strategy.

Before the discussion began, the working group of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications presented the background and progress in developing the national strategy, along with a presentation on the draft’s content and the next steps. The representatives from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport provided an overview of the current status and progress in the application of artificial intelligence in the education sector and key inputs to further refine and improve the draft strategy. Mr. Sok Tha expressed the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport’s support for the draft National Artificial Intelligence Strategy that the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications is developing.

The representatives from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport will conduct internal discussions within the ministry and will submit written inputs to the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications to ensure the draft becomes more comprehensive and clearly directed, aiming to transform the vision into reality and build a vibrant AI ecosystem that contributes to Cambodia’s economic and social development.
