Kampong Chhnang— On June 23, 2025, His Excellency Khay Khunheng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, presided over a workshop on “Ending AIDS, Sustaining AIDS Programs, and Combating Drug Trafficking and Through the Postal Service” held at Sok Thaisan Hotel, Kampong Chhnang Province. The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including His Excellency Dr. Hor Bunleng, Deputy Director of the National AIDS Authority; His Excellency Lieutenant General Thong Sokhunthea, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Authority for Combating Drugs; Mr. Yong Phirum, Deputy Governor of Kampong Chhnang Provincial Government; along with civil servants representing the Provincial Department of Post and Telecommunications and representatives from post and telecommunications service providers, bringing together approximately 120 participants.

The objectives of the workshop were to (1) reduce or prevent negative impacts of AIDS and drug use on human resources; (2) raise awareness about drug trafficking concealed through postal packages; and (3) share experiences in implementing administrative measures against individuals involved with drugs and AIDS-related issues—for the purpose of self-protection, preventing the trafficking, trade, and use of drugs, and strengthening understanding about the consequences of neglecting or underestimating the seriousness of AIDS.

On this occasion, H.E. Secretary of State expressed his heartfelt gratitude toward the speakers for taking the time to share their knowledge and new experiences related to AIDS and drug issues. He also expressed a strong hope that today’s workshop would serve as a movement toward the joint effort to eliminate AIDS and prevent the use, trade, and trafficking of drugs—which requires the need for increased vigilance in inspecting packages within their respective companies.
