Siem Reap: On May 23, 2025, His Excellency Khov Makara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, presided over the closing ceremony of the training on “Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer,” held from May 20 to 23, 2025, at Angkor Miracle Hotel in Siem Reap. The training was attended by approximately 30 technical officials from various ministry institutions.
The objective of this training was to equip participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in key areas of information security. These included understanding legal principles, defining the scope of an Information Security Management System (ISMS), conducting risk assessments, selecting and implementing risk management mechanisms, and preparing the ISMS for certification audits. The ultimate goal was to empower participants to become certified lead implementers who are capable of confidently and effectively leading the deployment of ISO/IEC 27001-compliant ISMS within their respective organizations.
This training was organized under the Cyber Resilience Improvement project in the Kingdom of Cambodia, a project that receives technical assistance and support from the Government of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Cambodia Office. It also contributes to the implementation of national policy focused on strengthening the capacity development of civil servants in ministries and institutions in the field of cybersecurity.
