Siem Reap— The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications successfully hosted the “2025 ASEAN Digital Senior Officials’ Meeting and ASEAN Telecommunications Regulators’ Council (ADGSOM–ATRC) Joint Working Group and Related Meetings with Dialogue and Development Partners,” which was held from June 9 to 13, 2025, in Siem Reap.
This meeting is a crucial annual technical meeting that provides the ASEAN Member States a platform to review the progress of the ADGSOM-ATRC work and to discuss project proposals submitted by the ASEAN countries related to the digital sector. Furthermore, it serves as a forum for ASEAN Member States to discuss digital sector cooperation with Dialogue Partners and International Organizations as Development Partners in the ASEAN Digital Framework, including Japan, China, the Republic of Korea, the United States, India, the Russian Federation, the European Union, the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and the World Bank.
Moreover, this meeting played a significant role in promoting the implementation of the ASEAN Digital Masterplan 2025 (ADM-25) and in coordinating strategic efforts in developing digital regulations, advanced technologies, and telecommunications infrastructure. During the meeting, delegates also reviewed the progress on 21 ongoing project implementations under the 2025 work cycle and discussed project proposals for the 2026 work cycle, following the first ADGSOM-ATRC Meeting of 2025, which was held earlier this year in Jakarta, Indonesia. The meeting also included discussions on Canada’s proposal to become an official Dialogue Partner under the ADGSOM-ATRC framework.
