Banteay Meanchey Province: On the morning of March 6, 2026, His Excellency So Visothy, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), and His Excellency Hay Hunleng, Director of Cabinet to His Excellency Pich Sophoan and Member of the Secretariat of the National Committee to Promote the Implementation of Key Measures in the Education Sector (NCPE), presided over the official launch of the Basic Digital Literacy Curriculum in 18 additional target primary schools as part of Phase II, which took place at Rohat Teuk Primary School in Banteay Meanchey Province. This initiative contributes to the implementation of key measures in the education sector of the Royal Government by nurturing Cambodia’s future digital human capital, equipping students with basic digital skills from an early age, embracing digital technologies, and becoming a driving force in enhancing Cambodia’s competitiveness in the digital economy.
The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications has collaborated closely with the Secretariat of the NCPE, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, and Tech for Kids Academy (TKA) to develop the Basic Digital Literacy Curriculum for Grades 4, 5, and 6, along with the establishment of digital classrooms. This includes renovating classrooms and installing computer equipment, smart TVs, security cameras, and internet connectivity, as well as selecting and training digital skills for teachers.

The curriculum focuses on developing children’s digital talents through various subjects such as English for technology, computer fundamentals, digital citizenship, online safety, mathematics and logical thinking, coding, artificial intelligence (AI), and problem-solving skills.
During Phase II in the 2025–2026 academic year, the program expansion to 18 new additional target primary schools allows the implementation of the Basic Digital Literacy Curriculum to cover a total of 60 target schools across 19 city-provinces nationwide, with 17,988 students enrolled, including 8,796 girls. This expansion marks a significant step in supporting the implementation of the Pentagonal Strategy—Phase I of the Royal Government and various national digital policy frameworks aimed at developing human capital and maximizing the benefits of digital technological advancement. As a notable result, during the 2024–2025 academic year, students from 22 target schools participated in the Technovation competition and the VIRTUAL GLOBAL GAME JAM 2025, organized by UNICEF, where they won the National Young Entrepreneur Award for the primary school level.
On this occasion, H.E. Secretary of State So Visothy encouraged digital teachers to work closely with school principals to ensure the proper maintenance and long-term use of classroom equipment while maximizing the benefits of the digital classrooms. He also called on parents and guardians to push their children for regular school attendance and encouraged students to remain committed to developing these digital skills so they can grow into a capable digital human resource in the future.
