California—On May 23, 2025, His Excellency Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, led a delegation to attend a meeting with representatives of UC Berkeley in California, USA.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss several key topics, including (1) the organization of human resource training programs, joint research collaboration, and the development of educational programs in digital technology; (2) an introduction to a document verification platform, verify.gov; and (3) studying and exploring digital startup promotion programs.

Mrs. Susan Gieseck, Director of Global Engagement at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, shared her experiences in organizing training programs with various countries. She expressed her appreciation and interest in verify.gov.kh.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Taylor Marcus, Head of European and Global Business Development at Berkeley SkyDeck, discussed their startup accelerator program, which supports new businesses through a network of mentors, industry partners, and investors within Berkeley SkyDeck’s ecosystem. Minister Chea Vandeth expressed interest in facilitating the participation of Cambodian digital startups in this accelerator program to enhance their capabilities and potentially access the U.S. market.
