Phnom Penh— On the afternoon of July 19, 2025, His Excellency Keo Sothie, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, presided over the opening ceremony of the 3rd Mekong Tech Festival 2025 under the theme “Designing Future for Next Gens,” held at Factory Phnom Penh. The festival took place for two days, from July 19–20, 2025, and aimed to showcase the future of global digital technology to the public. The event brought together representatives from ministries and institutions, tech companies, civil society organizations, academic and research institutions, development partners, professional freelancers, students, and the public.

During the ceremony, H.E. Secretary of State stated that the festival serves as a catalyst to accelerate Cambodia’s digital transformation by fostering the active engagement of the next generation, who are youth and students passionate about technology and digital innovation. In addition, he expressed hope that this year’s festival would see an increased participation compared to previous years, fueled by the growing interest and support from youth and the general public in embracing digital technologies. He emphasized that what sets this festival apart is its focus on hands-on learning, practical application, and networking opportunities. This festival also serves as a gathering space for students, young entrepreneurs, experts, and investors to share new ideas, innovations, and knowledge in the field of digital technology—especially the emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), data science, blockchain, and robotics.

Before concluding his remarks, H.E. Secretary of State encouraged all students and young professionals to actively participate in the Chaktomuk Junior Innovative Tech Competition to showcase their creativity and innovation. He urged participants to attentively listen to the speakers’ insights, who are knowledgeable and skilled in digital technology, as well as observe and absorb their practical experiences in order to achieve satisfactory results.
