Kuala Lumpur— On the occasion of attending the ASEAN AI Malaysia Summit 2025, His Excellency Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, participated in a series of programs with Malaysia’s private sector and specialized agencies from August 13–14, 2025, for the purpose of fostering cooperation in the digital sector.

On the morning of August 13, 2025, H.E. Minister presided over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cybersecurity Cooperation between the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications—represented by His Excellency Sam Sethserey, Director General of the General Department of ICT—and Axiata Group Berhad—represented by Mr. Vivek Sood, CEO and Managing Director of the company. The MoU aims to enhance collaboration in institutional capacity building, information exchange, and sharing experiences related to cybersecurity.

H.E. Minister also joined His Excellency Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital of Malaysia, along with numerous leaders from both the public and private sectors in Malaysia, during the “Southeast Asia Cooperation Conference” organized by China Mobile to discuss opportunities and cooperation for strengthening the artificial intelligence ecosystem in Malaysia and the region. During the conference, H.E. Minister shared the achievements and efforts of the Royal Government in fostering digital transformation in Cambodia, including initiatives related to artificial intelligence, such as the drafting of the National AI Strategy.

On August 14, 2025, H.E. Minister visited the Malaysia Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation to learn about their operations, achievements, and experiences in contributing to the development of Malaysia’s digital economy. In line with the efforts to promote digital infrastructure and digital human capital, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications has been strengthening and expanding an enabling environment for digital startups through cooperation with the private sector and international partners—particularly in establishing the Digital Park to foster Cambodia’s digital economy and society.
