New York City— On the evening of September 22, 2025, His Excellency Chea Sereyvath, Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Digital Government Committee (DGC), participated as a speaker in the “DPI COOPERATION in MOTION” held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, USA. The event brought together high-level representatives from countries participating in 50-in-5 to celebrate and showcase the ways they are working with one another to implement safe, inclusive, and interoperable DPI.

During the event, H.E. Secretary General Chea Sereyvath highlighted Cambodia’s progress in developing a trusted digital public infrastructure (DPI) by particularly emphasizing the development of the document verification platform verify.gov.kh and its potential for regional cooperation. The verify.gov.kh platform is a government platform developed by the MPTC. It is designed to eliminate falsified documents, provide user convenience, and verify document authenticity through the integration of a standard QR code on official documents that eliminates the need for paper copy verification.

It is worth noting that as of today, 30 countries have joined the 50-in-5 campaign, with Cambodia becoming a member in September 2024. 50-in-5 is a global initiative that brings countries together to help radically shorten and improve their implementation journeys to digital public infrastructure (DPI) by sharing learnings, best practices, and technologies that can ultimately reduce costs, avoid duplication, and maximize impact. The goal of 50-in-5 is for 50 countries to have designed, implemented, and scaled at least one component of their digital public infrastructure in a safe, inclusive, and interoperable manner in five years—by the end of 2028.
