Phnom Penh— On the morning of October 9, 2025, His Excellency Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), presided over the celebration of the “World Post Day” under the theme “Post for People: Local Service. Global Reach.” held at the Innovation Center (Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology). The celebration was attended by MPTC leaders, the Provincial Departments of Post and Telecommunications, civil servants of the postal operators, representatives from the private sector, and students—bringing together approximately 300 participants.

In his remarks, H.E. Minister emphasized that the Ministry does not view the postal sector merely as an inherent continuation of postal services but rather as a strategic sector that contributes to promoting e-commerce and driving socio-economic development. He stated that the postal network serves as a vital portal connecting rural communities and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to new markets and integrating them into the digital economy. H.E. Minister further encouraged all postal operators to continue developing their networks, modernizing and diversifying their services, and embracing digital transformation to ensure the sustainability of postal service delivery and to address growing customer expectations.

Furthermore, H.E. Minister continued that the Ministry plans to establish a Customs Bonded Warehouse within the Digital Park, which will help boost e-commerce and postal sector development. This bonded warehouse will store goods sold through online platforms and distribute them through the postal network.

During the event, H.E. Minister also launched a stamp commemorating the 130th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Cambodian Postal Service (1895–2025).
