Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of December 4, 2025, Cambodia as the host, His Excellency Secretary of State Keo Sothie co-chaired the 9th Session of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway Steering Committee (APIS) and the Regional Review of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), together with His Excellency Azamat Zhamangulov, Minister of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies of the Kyrgyz Republic. The afternoon session of this meeting focused on providing the progress and presenting results related to the member states’ achievements under the APIS Action Plan 2022-2026, as well as reviewing and implementing APIS Action Plan for 2027-2030, which is a core and important document for strengthening digital transformation cooperation among countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

Following the conclusion of the first day’s meeting, His Excellency Secretary of State Keo Sothie invited APIS member states and participants on a tour at the National Museum, warmly welcomed by His Excellency Kong Vireak, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and Mr. Chhay Visoth, Director of the National Museum of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts.

To concluide, on the occasion of the second day of the meeting, on the afternoon of December 4, 2025, His Excellency Secretary of State Keo Sothie delivered closing remarks emphasizing the importance and benefits of coordinating the implementation of the common goals and standards of the APIS Action Plan 2027-2030, which include:

1. Accelerate national digital infrastructure;

2. Expand digital inclusion;

3. Advocate for harmonized regional standards; And

4. Forge deeper partnerships with governments, UN bodies, the private sector, and financial institutions to turn regional cooperation into real economic growth.
