Minister Vandeth Chea Chairs Monthly Ministry-Wide Meeting
Phnom Penh, 28 May 2020, Minister Vandeth Chea led a monthly meeting with the leadership and senior officials of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications. The meeting emphasized the organizational and working procedure reforms as well as creation of working groups to address any existing and outstanding issues.
The minister stated the reform of the ministry’s internal administration and revenue collection procedure, notably the revenue sharing aspect, to comply with telecommunications laws. To support the livelihood of officials, MPTC has changed the payout period of the existing cash reward program from once every two months to once every month. Moreover, MPTC has created for all leadership, officials and contract officials a cash supplement program, wherein ministry officials will receive 40,000 riels per month while those at the provincial departments of post and telecommunications will receive 20,000 riels each month.
In addition, the Minister called for the revision and preparation of the additional regulations as well as the creation of a “One Window Service Office” aiming to provide fast, transparent and efficient public services to customers of post and telecommunications sectors. Several working groups have been created to meet urgent requirements, including digital government policy, ministry digitization project, radiofrequency spectrum management and allocation, and e-learning program.
On this occasion, the Minister advised all leadership and officials to observe the national anthem as a tribute to the national spirit and respect for those who sacrificed for national cause as well as those who thrive to develop the country and maintain peace and sustainability.
