Minister Vandeth Chea Participated in the Opening Ceremony of the China-ASEAN Year of Digital Economy via Video conference

Phnom Penh: In the afternoon, 12 June 2020, Minister Chea participated in the Opening Ceremony of the China-ASEAN Year of Digital Economy via Videoconference together with the 10 ASEAN Telecommunications Ministers and China Minister of Industry and Information Technology. China and ASEAN agreed that digital technology is a critical economic enabler and the COVID-19 situation has formed this momentum for digitalization. Digital technology and digital economy will allow member states to seize economic opportunities, and in turn, better the livelihoods of people in the region. The China-ASEAN Year of Digital Economy Cooperation comes at the right time as each members reaffirm the importance of digital economy development.

Minister Chea encourages all members to work closely together to seize opportunities in this digital age and build stronger partnerships for a valuable, trusted and secure digitalization in the region.
