Siem Reap Province: On July 15, 2026, H.E. Ung Sokoudom, Advisor to the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), presided over the opening of the Lancang-Mekong Regional Cybersecurity Forum at J7 Angkor Hotel. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Cambodia also attended.









Supported by the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund, the forum aims to strengthen regional cybersecurity cooperation and capacity building. In his remarks, H.E. Ung Sokoudom highlighted that mitigating rapidly evolving cyber threats requires joint regional efforts and mutual trust. He reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to advancing cybersecurity through stronger legal frameworks, human capital, and technical capacity.
Held from July 15–17, the three-day event hosts approximately 30 officials and CERT professionals from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam, alongside cybersecurity experts from the region. Key discussion topics include cybersecurity policy, critical infrastructure protection, cloud/data security, and AI applications. Through this forum, MPTC aims to enhance regional cybersecurity and support a secure, sustainable digital economy.
