Shanghai: On 16 July 2026, with the approval of the Royal Government of Cambodia, His Excellency Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, represented the Kingdom of Cambodia in signing the Agreement on the Establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO), which was also attended by representatives from 29 countries, along with delegates from international organizations, including H.E. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, and other senior officials.

The organization was established to promote innovation, development, deployment, and application of artificial intelligence for shared progress and the common good; expand international cooperation on AI; bridge the AI divide; and jointly mitigate and address the risks and challenges associated with artificial intelligence.
