Phnom Penh— On the afternoon of June 23, 2025, His Excellency Keo Sothie, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), met with representatives from Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Cambodia and youth from the KAS For Legal Youth (KASFLY) program at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications. During the meeting, technical departments delivered presentations on Cambodia’s digital transformation, digital government, and the drafting of laws and regulations by the MPTC. The purpose was to share knowledge with the youth on policy frameworks, laws, and regulations related to Cambodia’s digital transformation.
The MPTC has been formulating important laws and regulations, including the draft law on personal data protection, the draft law on cybersecurity, and guidelines on online child protection for digital technology companies to ensure online safety for children. In particular, the ministry is also drafting the national artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, which serves as a national-level strategy to foster effective AI governance. Additionally, the meeting provided an opportunity for the youth to present their preliminary research findings on various emerging technology topics and receive direct feedback from the MPTC delegation.
