Phnom Penh— On the morning of July 31, 2025, His Excellency Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), presided over a meeting focused on the use of the go.gov.kh platform to manage and combat the spread of fake news on social media. The meeting brought together approximately 70 participants, including leaders from relevant ministries and institutions as well as technical officials responsible for social media oversight.

During the meeting, H.E. Minister emphasized that the go.gov.kh platform will support ministries and institutions and the general public in verifying official sources, helping to prevent misinformation, scams, and the dissemination of content from unreliable sources. In addition, the go.gov.kh platform plays a crucial role in protecting users from cyberattacks through suspicious links (URLs) circulating on social media.

Furthermore, H.E. Minister highlighted that go.gov.kh serves as a government point of truth (PoT) repository for public documents that offers a trusted and credible source of information. Therefore, ministries and institutions can utilize this platform to store and disseminate their official public documents, which will help prevent the circulation of counterfeit content, fraudulent documents, or phishing links.

It is important to note that the platform has undergone strict technical compliance reviews and cybersecurity assessments before being formally recognized by the Royal Government as a digital government product and launched. Moreover, the MPTC has also established a technical team to regularly monitor, audit, and evaluate the platform to ensure high standards of security, safety, quality, sustainability, and public trust, while proactively mitigating any potential cybersecurity threats
