Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of April 25, 2026, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), in collaboration with Sisters of Code, IT Academy STEP Cambodia, and various stakeholders, organized an event to celebrate “International Girls in ICT Day 2026,” under the theme “Girls Building AI for Cambodia’s Development,” held at the MPTC headquarters. This celebration was attended by representatives from various government ministries and institutions, development partners, technology companies, civil society organizations, educational institutions, teachers, students, and the general public—bringing together approximately 370 participants.

The celebration was organized to raise awareness and encourage girls and women to develop an interest in studying and pursuing careers in technology, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence. The event also featured numerous educational activities, such as brief remarks by female technology leaders, roundtable discussion among women under the theme “Women in AI,” and a live demonstration by girls showing how to build a website using artificial intelligence as an assistant.
