Phnom Penh: On the evening of 11 June 2026, His Excellency Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), presented certificates of appreciation to ten senior officials who began their service in 1979 in recognition of their contributions to building a strong and sustainable ministry. The ceremony was attended by MPTC leadership and civil servants at the MPTC headquarters.

In his remarks, H.E. Minister expressed his deep appreciation and evaluation for the dedication, commitment, and sense of responsibility of these senior officials, who have played a vital role in the development of the ministry from 1979 until now. H.E. Minister Chea Vandeth stated that building a strong and sustainable institution cannot rely on the efforts of one generation alone. It requires the integration of the experience, knowledge, commitment, and values of senior officials and the innovation, energy, and new technological capabilities of the younger generation.”

Before concluding, H.E. Minister encouraged all leaders and civil servants to continue learning and embracing new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), as a tool to enhance their daily work. He emphasized that age is not a barrier to learning technology and cited the strong performance of senior officials in recent assessments as evidence that digital capacity is driven by “the willingness and open mindset to learn,” rather than age.
