Minister Chea Vandeth Attends the UN Public Service Forum

Tbilisi: At the invitation of His Excellency Li Junhua, United Nations Under-Secretary-General, and His Excellency Paata Salia, Minister of Justice of Georgia, His Excellency Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, attended the UN Public Service Forum in Tbilisi, Georgia. The forum was presided over by His Excellency Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, and brought together ministers from over 20 countries, alongside deputy ministers and leaders representing more than 100 UN member states and various international organizations.

The forum’s opening ceremony took place on June 23, coinciding with “United Nations Public Service Day,” held annually since 2003 to recognize the value of public service delivery to citizens as a crucial foundation for global development. The UN Public Service Forum has been organized alongside this ceremony since 2009, allowing nations to share experiences in providing better public services. This year, Georgia was chosen as the host due to its remarkable public service progress resulting from reforms over the last four years. Cambodia’s verify.gov.kh platform was also showcased to international participants at the event.
