Phnom Penh: On the evening of August 16, 2026, His Excellency Liv Sophanarith, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), presided over the closing and awards ceremony honoring three outstanding teams at the Cambodia National Cybersecurity Competition 2026, which was attended by MPTC leaders, partner companies, and contestants, bringing together approximately 120 participants at Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh.
The competition, organized by the MPTC and the CBRD Fund, was held for 2 days from August 15 to 16, 2026, to select top teams to represent Cambodia in regional competitions. The event attracted 157 teams totaling 547 participants from government ministries and institutions, the private sector, and educational institutions. During the ceremony, H.E. Secretary of State congratulated and presented awards to the three winning teams among the 34 finalists who joined the competition and received medals and prizes as follows:
– 1st Place Team will receive $2,000 USD.
– 2nd Place Team will receive $1,000 USD.
– 3rd Place Team will receive $500 USD.
Additionally, H.E. Secretary of State announced two outstanding teams alongside the three winners above to receive 10 weeks of specialized technical training and capacity building in cybersecurity from trainers to prepare for upcoming competitions.
The competition was supported by MPTC through the CBRD Fund and co-sponsored by Viettel (Cambodia) PTE. LTD., F5 Networks, BYTEDC Solutions Co., Ltd., Grab, Chief Bank, POSITRON MULTIVERSE Co., Ltd., Veilron Technologies, and CHAMPION GROUP, with Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh serving as the venue partner.
In his closing remarks, H.E. Secretary of State emphasized that the Cambodia National Cybersecurity Competition 2026 reflects the MPTC’s active contribution to promoting digital human capital, particularly cybersecurity professionals, and advancing Cambodia’s competitiveness in the cybersecurity sector both nationally and regionally.
