Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of June 11, 2026, His Excellency Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, presided over the closing ceremony of the training on “Using Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Work Efficiency on the Journey Toward Digital Transformation” attended by a total of 993 participants, including the ministry leadership and civil servants, held at the MPTC headquarters.

In his remarks, H.E. Minister stated that technology is advancing at a rapid pace and has entered the era of artificial intelligence (AI). In particular, Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) are no longer distant scientific concepts or future imaginations; on the contrary, this technology has arrived and is swiftly transforming work structures, including methods of thinking, data analysis, and decision-making. Therefore, leadership and civil servants must embrace and learn to utilize AI to enhance work efficiency and leverage technology to improve public service delivery for citizens.

Furthermore, H.E. Minister added that as the ministry responsible for leading digital technology, MPTC must take the lead and serve as a role model for other ministries and institutions in adopting AI. This entails maximizing the benefits of this technology while maintaining an awareness of its risks. In this regard, organizing this AI training for MPTC leadership and officials is of paramount importance.
