Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of July 8, 2026, His Excellency Kong Phallack, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), led an MPTC delegation to attend a technical meeting with representatives from the Ministry of Justice led by His Excellency Keng Somarith, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Justice, focused on reviewing and discussing the draft Cybersecurity Law.

The meeting discussed chapters regarding inspection and penal provisions as well as examining and reviewing various regulations for which representatives of the Ministry of Justice requested further clarifications. In response, H.E. Kong Phallack elaborated and provided detailed explanations on each point to ensure the draft law remains robust, comprehensive, and fully aligned with existing legal principles.

As a result, the meeting agreed to further refine the draft law’s text based on today’s discussions and to schedule another meeting for July 14, 2026.
