Siem Reap: On February 27, 2026, His Excellency Kong Phallack, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), and His Excellency Dr. Hor Peng, Rector of the National University of Management (NUM), presided over the closing ceremony of the “Personal Data Protection Train The Trainer Programme” held from February 23 to 27, 2026, at Khemara Angkor Hotel & Spa in Siem Reap Province. The programme was jointly organized by the MPTC and NUM through the agreement dated April 7, 2023, on the cooperation on the implementation of the document verification platform verify.gov.kh, the establishment of the Digital Technology Center, and the development of digital infrastructure and internet connectivity, with support from the EU-German GATE Project. The training brought together 30 participants, including representatives from MPTC’s Legal Department, the Telecommunications Regulator of Cambodia, professors, staff, and students of NUM, as well as representatives from the EU-German GATE Project.



In his closing remarks, H.E. Dr. Rector expressed his sincere gratitude to the MPTC for collaborating with NUM, under the support of the EU-German GATE Project, to organize this important training program. He emphasized that those who successfully completed the training will serve as highly capable “trainers” who will promote and disseminate knowledge on personal data protection to other institutions.
To conclude, H.E. Secretary of State and H.E. Dr. Rector presented certificates to the participants who successfully completed the training program.
