Phnom Penh: March 4, 2026, His Excellency Mam Amnot, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), welcomed an official visit by a delegation from the 9th Commission of the National Assembly, led by Her Excellency Nin Saphon, Chairwoman of the Commission on Public Works, Transport, Civil Aviation, Post, Telecommunications, Industry, Science, Technology, Innovation, Mines, Energy, Commerce, Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction (9th Commission), together with other members of the commission, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications in Phnom Penh.

The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation and ensure the effective implementation of the Royal Government’s policy programs, particularly to review the Ministry’s key achievements and encourage the formulation of important digital legal frameworks in line with the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy under the seventh legislative term.

During the meeting, H.E. Secretary of State Mam Amnot briefed the delegation of the 9th Commission of the National Assembly on the progress of three major laws’ formulation, such as the Cybersecurity Law, the Personal Data Protection Law, and the Law on Post. In addition, the Ministry is focusing on the three main pillars of the digital economy and society—Digital Citizens, Digital Government, and Digital Businesses—while also preparing artificial intelligence (AI) governance.

On this occasion, H.E. Nin Saphon, Chairwoman of the 9th Commission of the National Assembly, highlighted the National Assembly’s plan to organize a seminar on March 12, 2026, held at the National Assembly Palace under the theme “Strengthening National Resilience and Opportunities through Governance Strategy, Science, Technology, Innovation, Industry, and Cambodia Trade.” The seminar will serve as a platform to share technological achievements and future work directions with members of parliament and the public. H.E. Chairwoman also praised MPTC for its active role in developing the technology sector and suggested that the ministry continue providing regular updates to ensure that the legislative body can stay well-informed and effectively foster the development of Cambodia’s digital sector.

Following the discussion, the delegation visited the Security Operations Center and the Telecommunications Regulator of Cambodia to gain deeper insight into the management and protection of technological security in Cambodia. Furthermore, the delegation visited the “Community TechCenter,” the first technology center in Cambodia located within Hun Sen June 1 High School in Bati District, Takeo Province, in order to learn more about its development.
