Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of March 4, 2026, His Excellency Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), received a courtesy visit from His Excellency Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, at the ministry’s headquarters.

During the meeting, H.E. Minister warmly welcomed H.E. Secretary-General on the occasion of his visit to attend the Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit 2026, held in Phnom Penh. H.E. Minister highlighted the Royal Government’s digital transformation progress, the successful organization of the Digital Government Forum 2025, the establishment of community technology centers, the development of digital human capital, and the development of the digital government products, which include the Royal Government’s document verification platform, VERIFY.GOV.KH, and the DG SuperApp platform. Currently, the VERIFY platform has been recognized as a global digital public good and has attracted interest from various countries in the region for adoption.

In response, H.E. Secretary-General praised MPTC for the remarkable achievements, particularly the development of the VERIFY and DG SuperApp platforms. H.E. Secretary-General expressed strong support for the diversification of these platforms across ASEAN member states and other partner countries. Furthermore, he considered the establishment of community technology centers important in raising awareness on digital technology at the community level, while the understanding of technology remains limited.

H.E. Minister and H.E. Secretary-General further discussed the digital technology sector and cooperation within the ASEAN framework on technical areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and the organization of the ASEAN Digital Technology Expo.

Before concluding the meeting, H.E. Minister and H.E. Secretary-General reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening closer cooperation between MPTC and the ASEAN Secretariat.
