Phnom Penh: On April 30, 2026, H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) and Chairman of the Royal Government Working Group for Takeo Province, presided over the closing ceremony of the “Digital Skills for Administrative Tasks” training for the commune and Sangkat focal points and municipal, district, and provincial secretariat officials of the Royal Government Working Group in Takeo Province, which was held at the MPTC headquarters.

This four-day training, conducted at the Institute of Digital Governance of the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT), reflects the Royal Government’s commitment to developing human capital and building a digital government as part of the journey toward a digital economy and society in Cambodia. The training was organized following the recommendations of His Excellency Minister Chea Vandeth for the purpose of equipping officials with foundational digital skills to prepare activity reports and manage data for monitoring and evaluating work performance effectively.

During the ceremony, H.E. Minister stated that as the number of tech-savvy individuals continues to grow, provincial, municipal, district, and commune officials must strengthen their capacities to keep pace with technological advancements because no matter how advanced a system is, it cannot succeed if the users lack the skills or the willingness to utilize it. Furthermore, H.E. Minister encouraged authorities to strive to absorb these digital skills to serve the citizens and the nation promptly within the evolving digital context, noting that those who are proficient should continue to excel, those with limited skills should improve, and those who are new to technology should strive to learn.

Before concluding, H.E. Minister praised the trainees for their dedication to the program, noting that even senior officials worked hard to strengthen their knowledge; commended them for successfully completing the training; and encouraged them to apply these skills to better serve the people in their respective local communities.
