Phnom Penh: On August 10, 2026, His Excellency Khov Makara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), presided over the award ceremony for two cybersecurity competitions: the Short Educational Video Competition on Cybersecurity 2026 and the Cyber Arena 2026. The event was attended by the ministry leaders, students, contestants, and private sector partners, bringing together approximately 150 participants at the MPTC headquarters.









Following a thorough review, discussion, and evaluation by the judging committee, the MPTC awarded three winning entries in the Short Educational Video Competition on Cybersecurity 2026 for their clear educational messages, creativity, and technical quality as follows:
– 1st Place: Mr. Thany Sophoeunmony received 2,000,000 Riels.
– 2nd Place: Ms. Srey Roth received 1,000,000 Riels.
– 3rd Place: Ms. Nith Sodanika received 600,000 Riels.
For the “Cyber Arena 2026,” following an intensive 8-hour competition on June 27, 2026, the MPTC awarded three winning teams as follows:
– 1st Place: Team WillHack4Coffee received $1,000 USD.
– 2nd Place: Team NO NAME received $700 USD.
– 3rd Place: Team KHMER BLOOD received $500 USD.
– The three winning teams, along with 30 outstanding teams, will advance to compete in the National Cybersecurity Competition 2026 on August 16, 2026.
These competitions were supported by the MPTC through the CBRD Fund and co-sponsored by Viettel (Cambodia) PTE. LTD., F5 Networks, BYTEDC Solutions Co., Ltd., Grab, Chief Bank, POSITRON MULTIVERSE Co., Ltd., Veilron Technologies, and CHAMPION GROUP.
Both initiatives highlight MPTC’s proactive dedication to raising public awareness, developing technical capacities, fostering innovation, and providing opportunities for Cambodia’s digital talents to showcase their potential in cybersecurity.
