Phnom Penh: From July 28 to August 7, 2026, Her Excellency Ros Sorakha, Secretary of State and Head of the Working Group for the National Committee for Upholding Social Morality and Women and Khmer Family Values of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), presided over a meeting to monitor the implementation of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s recommendations and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The meeting was attended by Secretaries of State, Undersecretaries of State, leaders, civil servants, and staff from three subordinate general departments, Cambodia Post, and Telecom Cambodia.









The meeting was organized to discuss women’s protection, promote gender equality, and enforce laws, policies, and measures, particularly the high recommendations of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, focusing on: 1) understanding challenges and obstacles faced by female civil servants and employees in their daily duties; 2) sharing information on the provision of protection services for vulnerable and impoverished women and girls who are victims of violence; 3) raising awareness of the CEDAW Convention; and 4) promoting ethics and morality in the use of social media.
During the meeting, H.E. Secretary of State highlighted key government policies that promote gender equality, especially the continuous support of H.E. Minister Chea Vandeth in creating favorable conditions for female civil servants and staff to build their capacities and advance their positions. Furthermore, H.E. Head of the Working Group expressed gratitude to leadership across all departments for fostering and accommodating female civil servants and employees in their daily work.
Moreover, H.E. Head of the Working Group commended all female civil servants and staff for their dedication and resilience in playing their roles as good officials, wives, and mothers in both the workplace and their families. She encouraged all female civil servants and staff to continue enhancing their personal skills to actively contribute to the Royal Government’s mission of developing Cambodia’s society.
